It's a foreign company and I want to establish a liaison office in Korea. (Required documents, procedures, etc.)

💡 What documents are needed to establish a liaison office in Korea?

If you are establishing a liaison office, please prepare the following documents:

      1) Foreign Company Registration Certificate*

     2) Power of Attorney for liaison offices Installation Declaration(Power Of Attorney)*

     3) Minutes of the Board of Directors Meeting regarding establishment of the Korean liaison offices

  • Include the name, address, and resident registration number of the representative of the Korean liaison office.
  • Include the address of the Korean liaison office and the statement that a liaison office will be established in Korea.
     4) Copy of the passport of the representative of the foreign company concerned
     5) Passport copy of the Korean representative (D-7 visa is required for residency)
     6) Copy of lease agreement for domestic liaison offices  
     7) Power of Attorney (if declared through a proxy) 

*Documents 1)~3) require translation and certification in the original country.


💡 What are the procedures for establishing a liaison office in Korea?

       1. If you send the required documents above,

       2. The foreign exchange bank will file a declaration of installation of liaison office in Korea, and

       3. Business registration for the liaison office will be carried out. (It takes about 5 business days after the documents are prepared.)
