Purchasing agents whose import amount exceeds a certain amount must be registered with customs and receive a Purchasing Agent Registration Number.
It will be officially implemented from July 1, 2022.
💡 Who should register as a purchasing agent?
① Companies that have declared themselves as online sellers ② Purchasing agents whose total import amount of the previous year is more than KRW 1 billion are required to register.

If you are subject to mandatory registration, you must register by June 30, 2022, which is the end of the one-year grace period. If you fail to register, you will be fined up to KRW 20 million.
- The total import amount is calculated based on the amount paid by consumers to the purchasing agent (including commissions).
- Even if the import amount is less than KRW 1 billion, you can still register if you wish.

You can visit the customs office with the most import clearance records or submit application forms and related documents by mail, email, fax, etc.

The registration number can be received within 10 days from the application date and is valid for 3 years.
