💡 How do I report the manuscript fee received for writing a blog post?

Sometimes, you may see a notice at the bottom of a blog post on Naver or other platforms stating, "This post was written after receiving a certain amount of manuscript fee."

Manuscript fees received for writing advertising posts such as product reviews are considered as business income.

Regardless of the amount, you must file a comprehensive income tax return for business income.

If your income is not high, you may be able to get a refund of the 3.3% tax withheld through a comprehensive income tax return, so be sure to check it out 🙂

💡 What about AdPost income?

Income earned through advertising on blogs as AdPost income is considered as income of others.

If the total income of others earned from January to December of one year is less than KRW 7.5 million, you do not need to file a separate tax return.

However, if it exceeds KRW 7.5 million, you must file a comprehensive income tax return by adding it to other taxable income.
